< Good For You Cleaning Products >

I have made the switch from harsh chemical based cleaning products to all natural good for you chemical free products. Honestly, this was on my list of one of the reasons to move back to the States--so I could own these products. I really like the idea of products that are not harmful to me and my family as well as look and smell good. Enter Mrs. Meyer's, J.R. Watkins and Method. I own all the products above and honestly can't wait to buy more. I know...who gets excited about buying cleaning products?! I do.

I am sure you have heard of these products before and know that people love them...I just want to add my voice to that, that I too love love them.

Mrs. Meyer's- MY FAVORITE. Oh man do these products smell gooood. I had a really hard time choosing which scents to get first. I went with Radish and Lavender. They both smell so wonderfully fresh. I highly recommend these as well as my favorites Lemon Verbena, Germanium, Apple, Basil...etc etc. Right now there are seasonal scents...Orange Clove, Iowa Pine and Cranberry. I NEED to get my hands on them. I love the laundry detergent and dryer sheets. My clothes are soft and smell good after each load.

The best price for these I have found is at Target, however, Target only sells a few of the scents and a small variety of their products. Fred Meyer sells them too and has more variety, but they cost more. I think the best option is buying online, here, because you have all the product options as well as get free shipping if you spend $50 or more. I like me some free shipping. If you don't want to spend $50 for cleaning supplies not only do they make great gifts, but you may be able to find someone to go in on the order with you. This brand is for sure my favorite.

J.R. Watkins- I bought these at Target. These are the hand soaps in each of our bathrooms and they are great. Especially the grapefruit. Love the design.

Method- The fruity smell of clementine is greattt. Bought at Target as well. No idea if there is a better place to buy them.

I hope you make the switch too and get rid of those awful chemicals you are spraying around your house and using to clean your dishes. I think they are worth the little extra money and a great investment for your home.

< For The Sickies >

It's that time of year...when we're all a bunch of sickies{or maybe that is all year around}. Here are some of my favorite things when I am sick. I am getting over a cold now, but a pretty weak one, luckily.
> Ginger tea. I drink several of these tea bags each day I am sick. It makes me feel sooo good and helps my throat and nose when I breath it in as well. This particular box of ginger tea is from Germany, but I am sure/they better sell something to the equivalent here.
> Vitamin C powder packets are a must. I used to drink Emergen-C, which too is great, but I bought these packets from Trader Joe's and they are cheaper and seem to have more doses of the nutrients/vitamins inside. Plus the box is so beautifully designed. Win, win, win.
> A happy tissue box makes me happy when I am sick. {Also from Trader Joe's}
> Yummy smelling hand sanitizer {Autumn Day, Creamy Pumpkin and Farmstand Apple from Bath & Body Works} . Well I guess this is more preventative, too bad I waited til after I got sick to buy some.
> Ricola. Love. The perfect mint flavor and really does help that tickle in my throat. I also love that it's a cube.
> Olbas Oil. A very strong inhalant and is great for a really stuffy nose. Put a drop in tissue, or a drop on your pillow and inhale as best as your stuffy nose will let you. OR put a drop or two in some boiling water and inhale. Beware if you have any amount asthma issues to not use too much in one day. This past Winter, the last time I used it...I had a minor yet scary asthma attack because I inhaled too much of this in one day.

Some of life as of late.

We don't have the internet in our new place, I have been using my computer over at my parents'...I am there/here now. Hopefully soon we will get the internet. Our apartment is pretty much done and we love living in it. It is so grand to have our own place again and one that isn't peanut sized! {our apartment in Switzerland was very small}

< A Trip To Pike Place Market >

Yesterday, Jachen and I rode a bus to downtown Seattle. Jachen rides "free" since he has an unlimited bus pass so it was only $2.25 for me each way. Saved on gas and parking fees. I also wanted to experience Jachen's commute...it's the same route he goes every morning to work. It was great just being able to sit instead of drive, but man were there lotsss of crazys/ghettos on the bus. We will for sure go via bus downtown again.

Some {many} pictures of our little trip to Pike Place Market. I sure love that place. I can't believe I have been here since July and I hadn't been down yet. {I usually go down asap}. We did the usual eat mini donuts {always a must at Pike Place}...but I think for next time I will skip the donuts and get one of those pumpkin cookies you see in one of those pictures...looks tasty! This time we tried a new lunch...usually I get a Piroshky, but I decided this time to try something new and get a Kielbasa dog. Jachen got some German food at a Bavarian Meat Shop..where he got to order in German. It had been severallll weeks since he spoke German.

Another first for the market was buying some flowers for my first home in America! I think the last time I bought flowers at Pike Place I was a teen and bought one sunflower. There were many beautiful bouquets, but I decided to just get white and dark purple dahlias. They now sit on our dining room table.
