i have decided to feature some of my favorite rockin' gals and their rockin' hair. i am BORED to TEARS with my hair, even more so then normal, and am always on the look out for others' hair...even blue hair.

brooke fraser's new cd is one of my new favorites. i listen to it CON.STANT.LY. especially this one. the music on her new cd flags is so beautiful, inspiring and richly filled. i was in love with it when i purchased it and even still. i also love her long dark dark locks and full bangs.

I highly recommend this spread for all you pistachio lovers. it is a spread like nutella 

but tastes like pistachio, obviously. sure is delicious on a piece of toast.

i love shoes, that is no lie. these shoes i want to take home right now. right now. the top shoe i own in camel and they are a dream...i would love LOVE another pair in that grey. i drool over the others as well including those sweet pompom slippers.

|| Best.Gift.Ever. ||

well lookey who surprised me by flying in from switzerland four days before christmas! you may recall on my first post of this new blog the sharing of some items i wanted and recommended as gifts this christmas...jachen made the list but WHO KNEW i would actually get him for christmas. eek! actually, i will tell you who knew...my father who instigated the surprise and jachen(and my brother). they were in cahoots at the beginning of november and managed to keep it a secret to all else. i have been known to say that jachen can't keep a secret/surprise to save his life...he proved me wrong. my dad, secretly, picked him up from the airport wednesday evening and walked in the house with him following behind. all i could do was sit there in shock while my mom cried and sister so excited. shocked i was. a dream come true and was every second of him being here. tomorrow morning, wednesday, a week later after his arrival he will return back to switzerland where he will wait to fly back to me in april to marry me. this was a christmas of some firsts as well, it is always fun to experience 'firsts' together. many other great and fun times not pictured. i wish i could have captured them all.

here we are headed to jachen's first christmas eve celebration with my dads side of the family. notice the present tucked in between us...that was a Scentsy i brought for the gift exchange.

bowling. so fun. our first bowling together...which also coincides with the first time i bowled two whole games and didn't get bored. i usually can't play one game without getting bored. (we went with my family, what fun...more on that later)

my sister steph and husband rob gave jachen a gift card to P.F Changs a new restaurant for him. look at him eating that yummy lettuce wrap in one of his sweaters he opened christmas morning.

we love firsts

|| Life Is Grand ||

today started a little rocky, as stated below, but as i sit here at the end of the day im now feeling like life is looking pretty grand. today i had 4 great conversations that were well needed. conversations that ended in better understanding and better relationships. time spent examining life, specifically my own. the family all over with christmas anxiousness and a message shared of the true meaning of this wonderful holiday. the great feeling of not working tomorrow(or not at all this week) and simply being with family. always a happy feeling to have. feeling excited for the upcoming(on christmas) purchasing of mine and jachen's plane tickets for him coming for the wedding(to marry me) and then us flying back to live in switzerland. all great things adding up to a happy and warm feeling ending the day right.

and can't forget about this statement just made by my dear, funny friend julene. we were dicussing how my ikea furniture would get delivered to my house in switzerland because our car would be too small to take it. first julene suggested i carry it on my back, i then suggested one of the many swiss cows could carry it on its back....she followed that by saying....

so i was thinking, if you had a cow carry your couch home then your couch would smell like cow. gross. plus, then the cow would probably want something in return, so he would hang out in your front yard waiting for some kind of payment. and then when you didn't give him anything, he would break out in an angry rage, charge through your front door, breaking it. then the cow would go straight into your kitchen where he rummages through all your food and eating all the good stuff. then he would make his way into your living room where he would lay across your beautiful new sofa, mooing at the top of his lungs, and since you don't speak cow he would get even more frustrated....so frustrated that he would pick up the habit of smoking. so now you have a cow, laying on your sofa smoking a cigar, which incidentally sets off your smoke alarm, so then the fire department comes soaking your entire home, ruining everything inside.  and then when they see that you have a cow inside your house, they turn you into the authorities, and you and jachen get thrown into jail and you spend the first year of your marriage behind bars, and the only visitor you ever have is the cow because he kind of feels bad in the end. yea. just not worth it.

a great end to my day.

|| Just Eternity Left To Go ||

today marks nine months of us being together. we go by the day we met because that was the day everything changed for us. we both feel very lucky to have crossed paths that day. above, our first picture together and below a funny excerpt from an email i sent my friend olivia shortly after jachen and i met and had began chatting online.

here is my friend Jachen. the swiss guy i met last sunday. isnt he adorable? he is fun to talk to. we chat a lot. he has great taste in music(olivia this is who i mentioned to you before). he is the one that im hanging out with on tuesday to exchange music, watch a bollywood film and cook. dont worry im not in love with him.


that last line is funny, didn't take long til that changed.

|| The facts are these... ||

in the next few months, post wedding, i will need to start collecting christmas decor. i got nothin'. yesterday, my mom gave me three tree ornaments she bought for jachen and i {i will post about those later, she bought great ones}. per tradition, i have received a few childrens christmas books over the years, but to my current knowledge the books and the ornaments are the extent of my christmas collection. i am still in the works of figuring out what my christmas style will be like. i love my moms traditional christmas with santas and nativities, however i do like the pictured below two stylings as well. or maybe i will go all swiss? or maybe a pink tree and we will go from there? or a european christmas? i may just end up being just as eclectic as i always am and mix and match. oh, heavens. it is thoughts like these that keep me awake while i am laying in my bed trying to fall asleep at night.

as annoying as it is to have to start a new blog, i look forward to the fresh new beginnings of this blog. i have had my previous blog since 2006 and it is a good time in my life to be ending and beginning something. soon i will be beginning my biggest beginning...the beginning of my new swiss and married life. this blog, as far as i have decided, will be the twin sister of my previous blog a continuation of music, photos, family life, art...you know all things lovely.
