My dad is big into kayaking...big time big. For several years now he has taken a group kayaking on New Year's day morning on a mini paddling trip. This year Jachen was to go with him for the first time. New Year's Eve Jachen helped my dad load the kayaks...THEN that night Jachen got the flu that was going around...so no kayak trip for him. So sad. Dang it! Next year though.

Also, we are back in Switzerland. We said goodbye to Seattle on Saturday and 24hrs later we were back in our apt. Happy and sad to be back to "real" life. We came home to finding out our apt owner is getting rid of the shared DRYER. Can you believe it? She expects us all to hang dry our wash...so Jachen is looking into our rights about this. Hopefully either something can be done or she will at least lower our rent since she expects us not to have a dryer. Dumb. Anyway...back to real life it is.
